2012 first painting

CMJ painting!

This CMJ at the Pirate! party I painted. Later I gave the painting to one of the people at the party. It all went very well and I thought I would share the painting here. It's the only photo of the painting I took. The words in the center are taken from a Built to Spill song and a Tegan and sara song.

Playing Catch up!

Hello friends, as some of you may or may not know by reading the header above, this blog was started to showcase my Paintings. However I got lazy and it turns out I have not really posted all my paintings so the name "Paint is my bitch" may not make much sense when I tend to ramble on about music but really aside from Blog and Main what website name really makes any sense.

So I wanted to take today to reintroduce you, the viewing public, to my paintings. Having recently sold 5 of them I thought why not list the rest of them to be sold as well. So I just put my remaining paintings up on ETSY . So Feel free to head over there and check them I have also posted them here for you to check out as well! So thanks for reading!

Orange Crush

I just finished up this series. It sat around for a long time and I had no motivation to finish it or what I was going to do with it but then as it happens... inspiration struck. The song is Orange Crush from R.E.M .

I went so long without painting that when i started on that series i just finished i wanted to keep going. 

My friend Braden had wanted me to do something with City and Colour and i was never feeling it until well... now.... .
this is the progression of one painting as it has yet to be finished

its been a while but ... paint can still be my bitch

Decided this red one is done so thats good. And started work on a new series ....

Well it only took me a good 2 hours to post this video on You Tube so I am very happy to share it with you. I saw Tegan and Sara on Monday Night and they played Terminal 5. They have Empenadas there and they were good but Tegan and sara were better. Here is a video of them playing the "the Con" from their new record and a photo of the art I made to go along with that song. ...

Last night i started on Painting #26. I bought a bunch of red paint and have gone to work.

Red stars blanket the the sky which has turned purple and i stand here wondering. How did paint become my bitch.

This is a very very very early painting. Maybe my 2nd or 3rd. For those that do not know. Paint is my bitch came about when i came home drunk one night and was playing around with the Paint program on my 1997 Compaq computer. My roommate came home and asked. Hey what are you doing. I said... Making Paint my bitch. So it stuck. So a lot of my early paintings are reinterpretations of those early Paint programs on the computer. This is one of those. I am going to re do this one very soon.

This is my first series of paintings that go together.

as always i am not sure if they are done but they are close for sure.

there is a general color theme that ties them together as well as the common meaning of the words.

This is a work in progress much like the last post ...although the last one is looking more and more done... but this one is far from done... this is only the 3rd layer and i expect to add 2 more ... let me know what you think.

I just started/ finished this one... imean its allmost done. it stared out as my first ever portrait of someone but i think this covers them pretty well.
on the Left it says "Pretend its ok" and then in the center it says I'm the drama that you crave.

i have added to and decided to make it part of a 3 panel
series. more on that later!

Painted late last year after not painting for a while i was feeling it again. I asked some friends for a list of colors and some songs to listen to. This was painted listening to Radiohead. In the center it says If i could be who/what you wanted.
on the left it says it wears you out.. forward and backwards.
