TW | TA | Artist | Recording | Label |
1 | 87 | WILCO | Schmilco | Anti |
2 | 52 | HEAD AND THE HEART | Signs Of Light | Warner Bros. |
3 | 47 | PREOCCUPATIONS | Preoccupations | Jagjaguwar |
Wilco led from the start to the end. The 87 ADDs are the most adds since Of Montreal had 88 3 weeks ago. This will be an interesting week to look back on in a few weeks. Lets take a deeper look at the records that went for ADDS.
TW | TA | Artist | Recording | Label |
1 | 87 | WILCO | Schmilco | Anti |
2 | 52 | HEAD AND THE HEART | Signs Of Light | Warner Bros. |
3 | 47 | PREOCCUPATIONS | Preoccupations | Jagjaguwar |
4 | 44 | GROUPLOVE | Big Mess | Canvasback |
5 | 42 | OKKERVIL RIVER | Away | ATO |
6 | 38 | FLOCK OF DIMES | If You See Me, Say Yes | |
7 | 37 | BASTILLE | Wild World | Capitol |
8 | 36 | DRUGDEALER | The End Of Comedy | Weird World |
9 | 34 | TEENAGE FANCLUB | Here | Merge |
10 | 31 | DEATH BY UNGA BUNGA | Fight! [EP] | Jansen Plateproduksjon |
11 | 31 | IAN SWEET | Shapeshifter | Hardly Art |
Would you be shocked if Teenage Fanclub ended up doing better than Okkervil River? I would not. Or if Head and the Heart went #1 and Wilco did not? It will be fun to see how these records all do.
The Spinitron charts come out on Monday and I am starting to look at them as a pretty good preview of what might happen on the charts. This week for sure.
1 | 160 | Angel Olsen | My Woman | Rock | |
2 | 83 | Blood Orange | Freetown Sound | Rock | |
3 | 73 | De La Soul | and the Anonymous Nobody... | Hip-Hop | |
4 | 71 | The Avalanches | Wildflower | Electronic | |
5 | 71 | Thee Oh Sees | A Weird Exits | Rock | |
6 | 62 | Of Montreal | Innocence Reaches | Rock | |
7 | 61 | BadBadNotGood | IV | Jazz | |
8 | 61 | Wilco | Schmilco | Rock | |
9 | 60 | Mild High Club | Skiptracing | Rock | |
10 | 58 | Mitski | Puberty 2 | Rock |
Angel Olsen DOMINATED, almost DOUBLE the amount of spins of Blood Orange. Insane. Apparently this is the most spins since Prince Died. And that week 2 records got more than the 160
Rank | Spins | Artist | Disk | Genre | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 360 | Prince & The Revolution | Purple Rain | R&B/Soul | |
2 | 169 | Parquet Courts | Human Performance | Rock | |
So next week I think we should pay attention to how De La Soul, Of Montreal and Wilco do on the charts. It will be interesting to see how Wilco does the first week out as the last 2 #1 most added records have made huge jumps.
Angel Olsen:
1 | 5 | 176 | 1 | 3 | ANGEL OLSEN | MY WOMAN | Jagjaguwar |
Pretty much debuted at #5 and made an easy jump to #1
Local Natives:
9 | 140 | - | 9 | 2 | LOCAL NATIVES | Sunlit Youth | Loma Vista |
A debut this week at #9 and will be interesting to see how it does next week I would expect top 5 though.
and Of Montreal
2 | 3 | 11 | 2 | 3 | OF MONTREAL | Innocence Reaches | Polyvinyl |
#11 debut up to #3 and now #2
It's hard when you are going up against Angel Olsen or Thee Oh Sees two juggernauts in a row.
Thank you for reading! Lets talk more on Twitter.
